Family Register

Principles

The family register is a record of the direct descendants of Olof and Katharina Svensson as well as in-laws. Marriage-like cohabiting relationships are considered equal to marriage. Adoptive children are also considered equal to blood relatives. The maintenance of the family register is up to the relatives. The family association is not liable for any deficiencies or mistakes in the details

Data protection

The family association only uses family register data in accordance with the association’s charter. The association never releases family register data to third parties.
Geni is generally considered to be a safe and secure service, and family trees are only visible to logged in users. Geni users are encouraged to review their privacy settings as well as to familiarise themselves with the Geni privacy policy.

What is our family register?

How exactly are you related to the rest of us? The family register will be able to answer this question – it contains basic details of all descendants of Olof and Katharina.
The register builds upon the work started by Gunnar Fougstedt and Lars Törn in the second half of the 20th century. From 2000-2001 a substantial update was made and the family register was transferred to its electronic form.
Currently the register is somewhat out of date, and events after 2000 especially have only been partially entered. As a result, the family association is currently working on a project with the goal of updating the family register. Therefore, we now need your help to update the information we have.
If necessary, you can request assistance from the head of your clan, whose task is to be the link between their own family branch and the whole association, and especially to help in maintaining the register. You can find the contact details of the heads of clan here.
